The OwnersRichard and Cathy ChrismanEstablished in 1980, we set out on our main goal...family. With 6 children in tow, we uprooted from our home in Northern Michigan, over the Mackinac Bridge to beautiful Escanaba in 1994. Years later our family of 8 grew and grew welcoming 15 grandchildren with an extra two great grandchildren. July 2014 The Hiawatha Motel became a part of the family. Michigan based, locally owned, and most importantly, family operated. Remember where you came from, know where you're going and enjoy the journey.

We take pride in every single one of our rooms! We are finally Over halfway finished with our renovations! Some of them are still outdated, but what we lack in upgrades we make up for in cleanliness and comfort. Our main priority is your satisfaction.

Perfect for a couples' get away or just a nice, relaxing break. _______ Family Suite: A beautifully remodeled room gives you the luxurious feel of staying in a cabin without being away from the city. Complete with 2 sets of custom made bunk beds with a matching futon couch and an adjoining queen sized room, our family suite sleeps 10 comfortably. (Both the Family and Romantic Suite are NOT pet friendly.) |

Here at the Hiawatha our only goal is to make your stay in Escanaba enjoyable. Cleanliness and top notch customer service is our top priority. Our family is always eager to give you a dinner recommendation, directions, or something as simple as a conversation. Please book direct for the best possible rate.

*No charge to cancel or change a reservation however we WILL charge for a no-call, no-show. (It makes us stay up all night waiting for you and prevents us from reselling the room)

There is a 3.99% ser charge if you pay with a card. No charges are processed until you arrive.
